Passage: John 20:24-29, 1 Peter 1:3-9

One author describes the forty-day period between Christ’s Resurrection and Ascension as the “Indian summer” of that truly miraculous point in human history when the Word of God became flesh and dwelt among us (Jn. 1:14). During these precious and numbered days, what was most important to Jesus? Who did He visit? To whom did He speak? What did He say? Join us this week as we put ourselves in the shoes of Thomas—the doubting disciple who first saw and then believed, proclaiming “my Lord and my God!” Thomas had a choice to make—he could have believed the witness of his brothers who said, “We have seen the Lord!” but instead, Thomas held out until he could see for himself that Jesus was truly who He claimed to be(Jn 20:24-29). Today, those of us who choose to be disciples have but one choice: to walk by faith and not by sight (2 Cor. 5:7).
