Out of Division, Into Unity
We pray that you were encouraged, challenged, and fortified over the past eight weeks as the same message of faith, endurance, and hope that was preached to the Hebrew Christians in the first century was also preached to you. This Sunday we begin a new series entitled Following the Lamb.
Over the next two months we will take a sober look at what it means to faithfully follow Jesus while living in exile. In 2024, Jesus’ is not the only voice calling out, “Come follow me”—politicians, movie stars, news anchors, and countless internet “influencers” all clamor for your attention and ultimately your heart. But in a sea of would-be saviors, Jesus alone is truly who He says He is: the Way, the Truth, and the Life. This week we will look at how radical discipleship produces authentic unity. In an age saturated by “cheap grace” and “easy believism” let these words of early Anabaptist leader Hans Denck, stir us to repentance and radical discipleship: “No one may truly know Christ except one who follows Him daily in life.”
