Where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.” These simple words of Jesus in the Sermon on the Mount reveal the heart of worship: the devotion of the heart to that which it values above all else. This was true for the worshippers of Baal in the Old Testament as well as of Artemis in Ephesus. It’s still true today for the millions in our own country who worship their material possessions.
