God-Centered Worship in a Self-Centered World

Passage: Psalm 145

This week kicks off a seven-week sermon series focusing on the Psalms. The 150 individual psalms which make up the book have served as the bedrock of Christian worship for the past two-thousand years—giving voice to the wide breadth of the human experience (love and anger, sorrow and joy, regret and reconciliation, justice, and gratitude). Yet at the same time, the psalms recast what is human and temporary in the light of God Himself and eternity. This kind of God-centeredness was no doubt in his mind when David declared his decision, “My mouth will speak in praise of the Lord.” Please read and meditate on Psalm 145 as we look forward to worshipping together this Lord’s Day.
