Psalms is known as Israel’s song book and Paul instructs us to speak to one another using the Psalms (Eph 5:19). Songs are often thought of more as inspirational rather than informational or instructive. That may be true with some of our contemporary songs but hymns we sometimes refer to as “a sermon in a song” and that is true with many Psalms. 

Psalms 1 is our focus this Sunday – While those who compiled the book chose to place first the Psalm of great contrast between the righteous and the wicked, we decided to hold it near the end of our series. A concern is, many have fallen victim to the idea we are all basically good and in the end we go to the same place. Psalm 1 instructs us there is a difference! Pray along with us the Spirit of God will bring about a wake up call and trust him that he will accomplish his purpose – See you Sunday!
