The Dysfunction of a Family
This Sunday we move away completely from Abraham into the life of Isaac. The first thing we observe is dysfunction in the family. As we look at the root of it, we notice God’s chosen ones (Isaac and Jacob) are at the heart of it, all the while bringing about God’s purpose! We know the Bible was written in part to show us who we are ( James 1: 23-25). If the account of Isaac, Rebecca, Jacob, Esau and many others were omitted, the writers of scripture would have been considered unfaithful. But, the ongoing account of the patriarchs is a love story of God for them unmatched by any other in the Old Testament! This Sunday I pray we will come to appreciate God’s love and grace displayed under the old covenant. It’s in plain view under the new, but the hope of God’s people has always been, “Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever.” ( Hebrews 13:8) Click Here to go to YouTube for the live stream of this service.
