We have been declaring during this season that because he lives, we can trust his authority, bear fruit, love others and this Sunday live with integrity and freedom. But let me add just one more – it is also because he did not leave us as orphans ( Jn  14:18) as he promised when he ascended, but as the father sent the Son, so the Holy Spirit came to give us power to become the children of God. This Sunday, “because he lives, we can live with integrity and freedom.” Jesus, in Luke’s gospel forcefully called out those who pitifully lacked integrity and then Jesus words again in John’s gospel declares there is freedom for all of us who were slaves to sin. Pray that God’s Spirit will set free all who need to know God’s glorious freedom!
